The Automated Logic ALC/10K-2-O-BB is an Outside Air Temperature Sensor in BAPI-Box enclosure.  The enclosure has IP66 (NEMA 4) rating and is made of UV-resistant polycarbonate.   Also, the unit uses 10K-2 Thermistor as the sensing element.  

The Outside Air Temperature Sensor has a UV-resistant plastic shield that protects the sensor from direct sunlight and is well-ventilated.  An ideal sensor for the outdoors that can be used even in times of rainy and winter season.

You can install the sensor outdoor but must not be mounted near windows, doors, or vents.  The Outside Air Sensor includes etched Teflon leadwires that are designed to withstand harsh conditions, humidity, and condensation.  For additional protection, you can purchase a BAPI Weather Shade Kit.
