What is a motor start capacitor?

This type of capacitor is designed for momentary use. The Start Capacitor's function is to support motor start-ups by increasing the motor starting torque and allowing it to be cycled on and off rapidly. The capacitor stays energized until the motor reaches 3/4 of full speed, and afterward, energy is taken out of the circuit.
