The Goodman-Amana P140142 is an assembly consisting of an evaporator coil and drain pan.  The evaporator coil has a 3/4” drain connection size, aluminum fins & end plates, and copper tubing.

The evaporator coil is primarily used in residential and commercial air conditioners.  The coil is where the liquid refrigerant passes through and absorbs heat from the air.  It works together with the condenser, compressor, and thermostatic expansion valve in generating a cool temperature.  Also, the drain pan underneath the evaporator coil collects excess water to avoid rust and bacterial growth on the unit.

Over the years, the evaporator coil may corrode and cause holes or cracks in the coil.  Once there is corrosion, a possible refrigerant leak may happen and can cost you service maintenance.
