Typically when a filter does not have arrows pointing to the direction of flow, the filter can be installed either way. However, in such cases installing the filter with the pleats facing inward towards the unit is generally recommended. This will help to trap more particles and debris in the filter media and ensure that the air flowing through the filter is clean.
