The Watts 0559160 ( LFL1170M2-UT) is a lead-free hot water temperature control valve.  This 1" size NPT valve can be set or adjusted between 60°F – 120°F (16°C – 49°C) with a 0.5 to 23 GPM flow rate.  The maximum working pressure is up to 150 psi and has a minimum static pressure of 30 psi.

The LFL1170M2 series are constructed to be lead-free in compliance with installation requirements and to avoid lead contamination that can harm or cause health problems.  The valve is used on hot water supply systems especially for mixing hot and cold water.  Hot and Cold water flow can be easily regulated with the “double throttling” design of the valve.  Also, a cross-flow is prevented within the valve for it consists of integral check valves and filter washers.

Suitable for radiant heat applications and on applications that need to reduce hot water temperature.

Q:
The water temperature coming out of my hot water heater swings significantly in all 3 of my showers. The hot water heater is only a few years old and is running at a temp of 140F, the temperature gauge downstream of the Watts valve is 110. Is it possible that the Watts valve is not operating properly and creating the temp swings? This just started happening a couple of weeks ago
